A Systemic Functional Linguistic Study on Language Use of Indonesian Students in Writing

Language is a form of cultural wealth nation. Analysis the use language an interesting topic to study. The current manuscript implement Systemic functional linguistics (SFL) theory which focuses on exploring social and context in piece writing. SFL it self approach that considers as semiotic system function contexts choices users make. This paper intended analyze students’ recount text writing perspectives, how teachers can assist students solving problems. Specifically this study hopefully identify what aspects Indonesian usually made some errors, based three metafunctions from perspective. finding shows most did errors tense, generic structure, grammatical errors. Thus, Transition-Action-Details (TAD) could be used one strategies teaching writing, especially context.
